Brazil projects R$ 1,741 minimum wage for 2027

The Brazilian government has projected that the minimum wage will reach R$ 1,741 in 2027, according to the Annual Budget Law Project (PLOA). This represents an estimated increase of 7.4% and will impact various social and social security benefits, including pensions, retirements, and unemployment insurance.

The final value for 2027 will be confirmed in December 2026 based on the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) and the GDP growth rate from 2025.

Regarding the 2026 13th salary, the first installment must be paid by November 30, 2026. The second installment is due by December 20; however, since that date falls on a Sunday, the Superior Labor Court (TST) advises employers to advance payment to Friday, December 18, to avoid penalties. For INSS retirees and pensioners, the 13th salary installments are scheduled to be paid between late April and early June.
