Brazil proposes new economic development and deregulation bills

Two distinct legislative proposals are currently under review in the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies aimed at economic restructuring and bureaucratic reduction.

Bill 3315/26, authored by Deputy Duda Ramos, seeks to establish the National System of Local-Based Creative Economy (Criar Brasil). The initiative aims to support creative productive chains and social development, with a specific priority on the North Region. The project intends to address the historical lack of institutional and financial support for Amazonian cultural assets by fostering innovation, production, and international market integration.

Separately, Bill 3066/26, authored by Deputy Josenildo, proposes amendments to the Economic Freedom Law to reduce bureaucracy through digital integration. The bill would prohibit the government from requesting documents already held in official databases and mandates interoperability between public institutions. Additionally, it proposes a national regulatory sandbox for experimental business testing and introduces automatic license approval if public agencies fail to respond within a set timeframe.
