Tarcísio de Freitas launches São Paulo re‑election bid, backs Flávio Bolsonaro FAST-MOVING

The Republicanos party confirmed Governor Tarcísio de Freitas as its candidate for re‑election as governor of São Paulo. His running mate is state deputy Felício Ramuth (MDB). The ticket is supported by a broad coalition that includes MDB, PL, PSD, União Brasil, PP, Podemos, PSDB, Cidadania, Solidariedade, PRD, Avante and Novo.

At the convention held in the Ginásio do Ibirapuera, Tarcísio thanked his wife Cristiane Freitas, recalled his battle with cancer and highlighted his 55 % approval rating in the state. He criticized opponent Fernando Haddad and pledged to continue his agenda on health, education and security. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) attended the event, declared unconditional support for Tarcísio across all municipalities of São Paulo and was publicly endorsed by party leaders seeking to attract women voters.

The campaign also featured outreach to female voters, with right‑wing leaders urging women to back both Tarcísio and Flávio Bolsonaro, framing the alliance as a response to perceived gender‑related weaknesses in the opposition.
