Brazil pushes specialty coffee into Chile and US markets

The Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) led a commercial mission at Expocafé Chile, the region's largest specialty‑coffee fair held in Santiago from July 24‑26. The delegation identified a US$5.6 million business potential and closed US$1.02 million in deals, citing Chile’s strong purchasing power, logistics and status as a showcase for Brazilian brands in Latin America. BSCA executive director Vinicius Estrela said the effort aims to build long‑term partnerships for Brazilian specialty coffee in cafés and retail.

At the same time, Brazil is seeking to regain its share of the United States market after a 43 % drop in shipments for the 2025/26 coffee crop. Bill Murray, president of the National Coffee Association, will speak at the Vitória Coffee Summit on August 20‑21 to discuss quality, new preparation methods and the recent tariff exemption that protected US$2‑2.5 billion in annual sales. The summit hopes to attract U.S. buyers and revive demand for Brazilian coffee.
