Brazil recognizes disability rights and accessibility initiatives

Various Brazilian initiatives focused on accessibility and the rights of people with disabilities were recently recognized through awards and community events.

The Accessible Labor Justice Award (Prêmio Justiça do Trabalho Acessível) honored five initiatives across different dimensions of accessibility, including attitudinal, communicational, technological, services, and management. Recognized projects included the TRT 8th Region’s “Educação para Todos, Futuro para Todos” for attitudinal accessibility, and the CSJT’s technological initiative to make the PJe system accessible to visually impaired individuals.

In Belford Roxo, the municipal government held an event to mark the National Day of Struggle for People with Disabilities and “Setembro Verde.” The program included cultural activities, lectures, and personal accounts regarding inclusion and atypical motherhood, aiming to promote visibility and the guarantee of rights for citizens with disabilities.
