Brazil records two fatal industrial accidents involving workers

A 40‑year‑old worker died after falling into a grain silo at a feed‑mill on the outskirts of Jesuítas, Paraná. The accident occurred on 17 July 2026 when the worker's safety harness failed, causing him to become buried in corn and prompting a rescue operation by the Paraná Military Firefighters, SAMU and the Military Police.

On the same day, a construction worker was killed at a building site at the entrance to the city of Palestina, São Paulo. The victim was struck by the tire of heavy machinery, and despite emergency response the injuries proved fatal. Police secured the scene and a forensic investigation was launched.

Authorities in both states have opened inquiries to determine the causes of the accidents and to assess any safety violations.
