Brazil releases R$ 2.3 billion in Electoral Fund as Mato Grosso polls emerge
Political parties in Brazil are set to receive the first installment of the Electoral Fund, totaling R$ 2.3 billion. This release follows a decision by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to dismiss a petition by the Workers' Party (PT) regarding the rectification of fund values. The distributed amount represents 48% of the total resources, allocated proportionally to the size of party delegations in the Chamber of Deputies. The Liberal Party (PL) is slated to receive the largest share at R$ 881.7 million, followed by the PT with R$ 615.4 million.
In Mato Grosso, the first Quaest poll for the 2026 gubernatorial race shows Wellington Fagundes (PL) leading with 27% of voter intentions, followed by the current governor, Otaviano Pivetta (Republicanos), at 23%. Dra. Natasha (PSD) follows with 8%. For the Senate race in the same state, Mauro Mendes (União) leads with 24%, while Janaína Riva (MDB) holds 18%.
