Brazil reports deadly home invasions in Rio Branco and Santa Maria

In Rio Branco, Acre, 65‑year‑old F. das C. de S. G. was assaulted inside her home by her step‑daughter and the latter's husband, who beat her with a stick and punched her. The victim fled the house but collapsed on a public road and was taken to a hospital with stable condition. Police are investigating the attack and searching for the suspects.

In Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, 36‑year‑old Suelén dos Santos Alves was shot to death after armed men forcefully entered her residence. She died on the scene despite emergency responders' efforts. Authorities recovered ammunition casings, are conducting ballistic analysis and have opened a homicide investigation.

Both incidents are being handled by local police and forensic units as separate homicide cases.
