Global reports of fatal traffic accidents and emergency incidents
Various fatal and serious traffic accidents have been reported across Brazil, Portugal, and Mozambique.
In Brazil, multiple incidents occurred, including a head-on collision between a bus and a truck on the BR-040 that left at least two dead and 22 injured, and a crash in Goiás where a businessman and his two young daughters died. Other notable events include a pilot surviving an aircraft engine failure in Minas Gerais by using a ballistic parachute, and several motorcycle-related fatalities and injuries in various states.
In Portugal, a firefighter is undergoing specialized surgery in Gaia after a vehicle crash involving a ravine fall while responding to an Arouca fire. Additionally, four women were injured in a car-versus-pedestrian accident in Albufeira.
In Mozambique, the National Institute of Road Transport (INATRO) reported a major accident on the N12 road involving a heavy goods vehicle and a passenger vehicle, resulting in 11 deaths. Authorities cited speeding and driving in the wrong lane as probable causes.
