Brazil reports multiple homicides in Itabuna and Alagoas' Pão de Açúcar

In Itabuna, Bahia, a 28‑year‑old man identified as Leandro Pereira da Silva was shot multiple times and struck in the head on Thursday afternoon. The killing raised the municipality’s homicide tally to five within a five‑day span, following separate murders on June 4, 5, 7 and 8. Police have not yet arrested any suspects and investigations are ongoing.

In the rural community of Meirús, Pão de Açúcar, Alagoas, a bar fight on Thursday night ended with the death of a man known as Wallison after he was stabbed and later shot. Two other people were injured – one accompanying Wallison and the bar’s owner, who was hit by gunfire. Authorities have isolated the scene and are probing the motive, which remains unclear.
