Brazil reports police shooting death in Bahia and murder arrests in Maranhão

A police operation in Eunápolis, Bahia, ended with the death of Graziele de Assis Santos, a woman suspected of drug‑trafficking involvement. Officers said the suspect fired at them before being shot; she was taken to hospital but died from her wounds. Police recovered a .38 revolver, ammunition and small amounts of crack‑like substances, along with a motorcycle.

In Imperatriz, Maranhão, police arrested two men accused of killing a homeless man known as “Baiano” after a dispute over a perfume. The victim suffered severe facial injuries from repeated blows. The suspects confessed and were taken to a local precinct for further investigation.
