Brazil reports two separate elderly traffic deaths in Bahia and São Paulo

A 79‑year‑old man, Gerson Santos Novais, died after a collision between a car and a motorcycle on a rural road in the Tranqueiras village of Rio de Contas, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, on Saturday afternoon. He was taken to the Municipal Hospital of Rio de Contas but was pronounced dead; the incident is under police investigation.

A 78‑year‑old woman, Maria Aparecida, died following an accident involving a bus on Rua Doutor Castro Santos in the Campo do Galvão neighbourhood of Guaratinguetá, São Paulo, on Tuesday morning. Emergency services found her already without signs of life, and the police have opened a case to determine the causes of the crash.
