Journalist and TV presenter Rachel Sheherazade said she was forced out of an Uber vehicle in São Paulo after asking the driver to change the radio station. She described feeling threatened, posted a warning that "Evitem aceitar corridas do motorista Ricardo… grosseiro, irresponsável," reported the incident to Uber and said she would file a police report.
In a separate case in Taubaté, driver Rafael dos Santos (known online as "Pirata Driver") ended a ride and asked two passengers to leave after they called the music of the rap group Racionais MC’s "música de preto" (a racist comment). He posted a video of the exchange, saying "Pode descer do meu carro, por favor. O senhor está com desrespeito, tá maluco?" The driver did not file a police report, and the passengers were not identified. Both incidents highlight safety and discrimination concerns within Brazil's rideshare services.
