Brazil road closures in Paraná and São Paulo disrupt traffic

The PR-438 highway near Ponta Grossa (km 60) was again blocked on Monday morning as crews used cranes to upright a truck carrying dangerous material and to remove its load. The blockage, affecting both directions, began at 9:30 a.m. and will stay in place until the vehicle is cleared and equipment removed. Drivers were urged to use alternate routes and to proceed with caution in the foggy conditions.

In São Paulo, the return lane of Rodovia Prof. Zeferino Vaz (km 112) was closed from 10:00 a.m. on Monday and is scheduled to remain shut until Friday. The concessionaire installed concrete barriers and reinforced signage to stop trucks and buses from performing illegal maneuvers. Motorists are directed to use exit 113B or Avenida Theodureto de Almeida Camargo as detours. When the lane reopens, it will be limited to cars and motorcycles, while heavy vehicles must continue using the designated exit.
