Brazil road infrastructure demands specialized asphalt equipment
Brazil's road network requires continuous maintenance and expansion, driven by the need for equipment capable of handling high-temperature and high-pressure asphalt. According to the 28th edition of the CNT Highway Survey, Brazil has 216,976 kilometers of paved roads, with 62.1% (70,896 km) currently in regular, poor, or very poor condition.
While the percentage of roads classified as excellent or good rose from 33.0% in 2024 to 37.9% in 2025 due to new concessions and increased investment, the demand for resurfacing remains high. José Francisco dos Santos, executive director of Maxxflex, noted that equipment used for hot asphalt distribution must withstand intense thermal variations and direct contact with petroleum derivatives to avoid compromising construction schedules and pavement quality.
To meet these needs, specialized manufacturers are developing technical rubber solutions. Maxxflex has introduced the ACSASFQ (Hot Asphalt Suction and Discharge) hose, designed with a synthetic rubber inner tube resistant to temperatures up to 110°C and suction pressures of up to 610 mm/Hg. The product features anti-static wire, textile reinforcement, and a steel wire spiral to ensure durability against abrasion and petroleum residues.
