Brazil rolls out Amazon VR film and cinema blankets to boost public experiences

A free 10‑minute 360° virtual‑reality film titled “Amazônia Viva”, directed by Estevão Ciavatta and narrated by indigenous leader Raquel Tupinambá, will be shown on July 21 from 14:00 to 17:00 at Shopping Jardim Oriente in São José dos Campos, São Paulo. The screening, part of the Inter‑religious Initiative for Tropical Forests, was produced by Pindorama Filmes with technology from Studio KwO XR, financed by the Instituto Clima e Sociedade, and previously won Best VR 360° Film at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival. Gláucia Acciarito, marketing manager of the shopping centre, said the event “reinforces our commitment to offering experiences that go beyond entertainment and to inspire reflection on the importance of preserving the Amazon and its peoples.”

Cinépolis, the largest cinema chain in Latin America, began selling a branded blanket in all its Brazilian locations from July 17. The blanket, available in blue and black, is marketed for use both inside and outside the cinema to improve thermal comfort as temperatures drop. Luiz Fernando Angi, marketing manager of Cinépolis Brazil, said the product “aims to continuously enhance the feeling of comfort at every stage of the experience in our units.”
