Brazil-China agreement eases export of Brazilian fruit pulps and frozen fruit
The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) has added a model sanitary certificate for Brazilian fruit pulps and frozen fruit to its import system. Brazilian exporters can now register through the China Import Food Enterprise Registration (CIFER) platform, obtain a registration number and ship to China once the required sanitary certificate—agreed between the two governments—is attached.
The authorization applies to fruit species already recognized as food in China, such as açaí, mango, guava, pineapple, passion fruit and other approved varieties. Products derived from fruits not yet recognised must follow additional “new‑food” procedures under Chinese law. The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced the measure, which is expected to expand market access for Brazil’s fruit sector.
