Brazilian schools recognized in international and national innovation programs

Brazilian educational initiatives are gaining international and national recognition through two distinct programs. Four schools from Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, and Pará have been named among the 50 finalists for the World’s Best School Prizes 2026. Organized by T4 Education, this award recognizes schools for social impact, innovation, and community engagement across categories such as environmental action and overcoming adversity. One notable finalist is the GET IV Centenário in Rio de Janeiro’s Complexo da Maré.

In the corporate sector, Samsung has announced 30 semifinalists for the 13th edition of its Solve for Tomorrow Brasil program. This initiative focuses on public high school students developing technological solutions for community issues. Projects range from AI-powered glasses for the visually impaired to IoT water monitoring systems in semi-arid regions. The semifinalists, primarily from Amazonas, Goiás, Pernambuco, and São Paulo, will undergo mentorship before the final ten are selected in October.
