Brazil sees separate house and restaurant fires in Várzea Grande and Alto Paraíso

A residential fire in Várzea Grande, Mato Grosso, on July 7 destroyed about R$8,000 in cash belonging to a 76‑year‑old man; no one was inside the home when firefighters arrived and the cause remains under investigation.

On July 8 a restaurant in Alto Paraíso de Goiás caught fire after a welding spark ignited its straw roof. The blaze was quickly contained by the Goiás fire service, causing structural damage but no injuries. Both incidents highlight the risks of accidental ignition in residential and commercial settings.
