Brazil sees surge in marathon registrations for events in Bento Gonçalves and Vitória

The 7th Rústica Sesc Caitá race, promoted by Supermercado Caitá and organized by Sesc Bento Gonçalves, will take place on 13 September. The event offers 5 km and 10 km adult courses plus a non‑competitive children’s run. Registrations remain open until 1 September, with 700 spots available and fees starting at R$119. Participants must collect their kits at the Caitá supermarket and the top five adult finishers will receive trophies.

The Maratona de Vitória is scheduled for 29‑30 August and aims to gather around 10 000 runners. More than 7 000 athletes are already signed up, including 1 119 international competitors from the United States, Russia, Canada, Italy and the United Kingdom. The marathon features 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, 42 km and specialty “Kids” and “Challenge” distances, with a cash prize pool close to R$30 000 and a new traffic‑management system to keep streets clear on race day.
