Brazil Senate candidates file asset declarations for 2026 elections

Candidates for the 2026 Senate elections in Brazil have begun submitting their asset declarations to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Luiz Osvaldo Pastore, a businessman from the Liberal Party (PL) and first substitute for Eduardo Gomes, leads the wealth ranking among candidates, declaring R$ 677.7 million. His assets are primarily concentrated in investments, financial applications, and business interests within the metallurgical sector. He also reported R$ 12.9 million in furniture and art, a R$ 2.9 million home, and R$ 256.5 thousand in foreign accounts.

Eder Mauro, also representing the PL for the state of Pará, declared assets totaling R$ 2.6 million. This represents a 12.3% increase compared to his 2024 declaration. His updated portfolio includes R$ 168,802.52 in fixed-income investments, a shift from no declared fixed-income assets in the previous cycle.
