Brazil Senate President Davi Alcolumbre tops political rejection poll, Lula leads positive ratings

A poll conducted by AtlasIntel in partnership with Bloomberg surveyed 4,999 Brazilian adults between June 26‑30, 2026. The study ranked political figures on image perception. Senate President Davi Alcolumbre registered the highest negative rating, with 90% of respondents indicating a negative image and only 2% a positive one. House of Representatives President Hugo Motta followed with 88% negative and 3% positive, while federal deputy Aécio Neves also recorded 88% negative perception.

President Luiz Inácio Lula held the top spot for positive image at 46%, though 54% of those surveyed still viewed him negatively. Vice‑president Geraldo Alckmin was next with 45% positive and 50% negative. Other leaders such as São Paulo Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (44% positive) and former Finance Minister Fernando Haddad (43% positive) also appeared in the ranking. Former President Jair Bolsonaro received 42% positive and 58% negative ratings. The poll, part of the Latam Pulse project, carries a 1‑point margin of error and a 95% confidence level, and is registered with Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court.
