Brazil sobriety checkpoints lead to arrests and vehicle seizures

Law enforcement agencies in Brazil conducted sobriety checkpoints in Cuiabá and Itabirito, resulting in numerous arrests and vehicle seizures.

In Cuiabá, an integrated operation led to the arrest of six individuals for driving under the influence. Authorities inspected 135 vehicles, issuing 102 traffic violation notices. The operation resulted in the removal of 49 vehicles, including 35 cars and 14 motorcycles. Violations included driving without a license, driving under the influence, and refusing breathalyzer tests.

In Itabirito, a roadside operation on the BR-356 highway saw the inspection of 44 vehicles. This action resulted in seven unlicensed drivers being caught and three vehicles being removed. Police also recorded two refusals to perform breathalyzer tests and one traffic accident involving a victim.
