Brazil software industry revenue could double by 2030

A study by Observatório Softex titled ‘TICs 2026’ indicates that Brazil's software industry has the potential to double its revenue by 2030. The report highlights that the global Information and Communication Technology (ICT) market is expected to reach US$ 4.66 trillion by 2026, with an annual growth rate of 9.25%.

Within this sector, the software industry is projected to reach US$ 1.43 trillion, a 14.7% expansion driven by generative artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and Software as a Service (SaaS) models. IT services remain the largest segment by volume, forecasted to reach US$ 1.86 trillion.

The study also notes a high level of global digital economy concentration. The United States accounts for 41% of the global ICT market, while China and the European Union each hold 11%. Rayanny Nunes, coordinator at Softex, noted that this concentration creates significant barriers for developing nations like Brazil to compete and innovate internationally.
