Brazil solar sector sees policy push and youth entrepreneurship

State deputy and Senate pre‑candidate Janaina Riva (MDB) met with solar‑energy integrators and business leaders in Mato Grosso to highlight delays and opaque procedures in project approvals by the concessionaire Energisa. Participants described excessive waiting times and missing technical justifications, urging stronger oversight and a dedicated service channel for solar projects. Riva said she will raise the issues in her Senate campaign, arrange a meeting with Energisa and propose mandatory specialized assistance for solar developers.

In Goiânia, Impact Hub partnered with utility EDP to launch the free "Projeto Gerador de Renda – Energia Solar" program. Up to 20 young residents of Goiânia or Aparecida de Goiânia, aged 18‑24, will receive a 12‑week entrepreneurial training focused on solar energy, with mentorship, a business fair and a minimum prize of R$2,500 for those achieving at least 80 % attendance. The initiative aims to generate jobs and support Brazil’s transition to renewable energy.
