Brazil sports initiatives focus on economic data and fundraising
Efforts are underway in Brazil to improve the economic visibility and financial sustainability of the sports sector. Paralympic champion Daniel Dias recently emphasized the importance of the ‘Sports GDP’ to transform economic data into tools for increasing investment for athletes, entities, and projects.
Simultaneously, the Instituto Mudar o Jogo has launched a national mapping project to study fundraising practices within Brazilian community sports. The research aims to identify funding sources and operational bottlenecks for leagues, teams, and socio-sporting projects. Organizers noted that a lack of consolidated data currently hinders access to structured resources from both private investors and public policy development.
