Brazil study reveals music is essential for most workout routines

A study conducted by Maximum Boxing involving 500 adults across Brazil reveals that music is a central component of physical exercise routines. Approximately 83.8% of respondents listen to music during most or all of their workouts, while only 2.8% reported never listening to music while exercising.

Pop, electronic, and rock are the leading genres for workout playlists. Popular artists frequently cited by participants include Alok, Anitta, and Henrique & Juliano. Specific tracks mentioned include “Meteoro” by Luan Santana and “Numb” and “In The End” by Linkin Park.

The findings align with broader trends in Brazil, where music consumption is high. According to the IFPI “Engaging with Music” report, Brazilians spend an average of 24.9 hours per week listening to music, which exceeds the global average of 20.7 hours.
