Brazil suffers early exits at Wimbledon while securing playoff spots in Beach Volleyball Elite 16

At Wimbledon, all Brazilian men's doubles teams were eliminated on the first day of competition. The pair of Rafael Matos and Orlando Luz lost to Théo Arribagé and Albano Olivetti in straight sets, while Marcelo Demoliner and Sriram Balaji were beaten by Sander Gillé and Sem Verbeek after a three‑set match. A third Brazilian duo, Marcelo Melo and Andrés Molteni, also fell in the second round.

In the Elite 16 beach‑volleyball tournament in Gstaad, Swiss, Brazilian duos performed better, guaranteeing at least four teams a place in the playoff round. Pairs André/Renato, Duda/Ana Patrícia, Carol/Rebecca and Evandro/Arthur Lanci secured spots, with only Thâmela/Vic needing a win in their final group match to advance.

These results highlight contrasting fortunes for Brazil in tennis and beach volleyball at major international events.
