Brazil Supreme Court authorizes probe into Bolsonaro biopic producer
Flávio Dino, a minister of the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF), has authorized the Federal Police to access investigation data regarding Go Up Entertainment. The production company is responsible for “Dark Horse,” a biographical film about former President Jair Bolsonaro.
The authorization follows a request to access data from a São Paulo Civil Police operation investigating contracts between the Instituto Conhecer Brasil—an entity linked to the production company—and the São Paulo municipal government. The investigation focuses on suspected fraud and the misappropriation of public funds.
The case involves the alleged diversion of R$ 2 million in parliamentary amendments directed to the institute by Federal Deputy Mario Frias. The scrutiny intensified after reports surfaced regarding financial contributions from Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, to help fund the film's production.
