Brazil Supreme Court pauses penalties on workplace mental‑health risk rules

The rule, effective since May, obliges companies to identify and manage psychosocial risks such as excessive workload, constant pressure and harassment. The court’s decision opens a 90‑day period for dialogue through the STF’s consensual conflict‑resolution unit (Nusol) to define clear criteria for future inspections and penalties. While penalties are suspended, firms must continue to assess and prevent these mental‑health risks until the process concludes and the case returns to the STF plenary for further review.
