Hapvida: ANS suspends precautionary measure after contract clarifications
The National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) has suspended a precautionary measure previously imposed against Hapvida Assistência Médica S.A. The decision follows a meeting in Rio de Janeiro where company executives, including CEO Lucas Adib and Vice President Gustavo Ribeiro, clarified the scope of planned price adjustments.
Hapvida stated that the adjustments apply exclusively to collective contracts held by large corporate groups. The company emphasized that individual plans, collective plans by adhesion, and contracts for small and medium-sized enterprises are not affected. This clarification addresses concerns that the measures could have impacted approximately 947,000 beneficiaries.
While the suspension removes the immediate regulatory impediment to negotiating these large corporate contracts, the ANS will implement regulatory monitoring to preventively track the implementation of these measures and ensure no undue impact on consumers.
