Brazil temporary labor trends show youth growth as Suzano opens trainee roles

Data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment's Novo Caged indicates that young people aged 18 to 24 were the primary group among temporary workers in Brazil during the first half of 2026. This demographic accounted for 33.17% of all temporary admissions, totaling 178,186 hires. This represents a 1.8% increase compared to the same period in 2025, contrasting with a 1.2% decrease in formal market admissions for the same age group.

In the broader temporary labor market, nearly 80% of workers are between the ages of 18 and 39. Experts suggest that temporary work serves as a vital entry point for young professionals seeking their first experience or career relocation.

In the region of Mato Grosso do Sul, the company Suzano has opened a selection process for trainee operators. The opportunities, which include roles for forest machine operators and crane operators, are available in Três Lagoas, Ribas do Rio Pardo, Água Clara, and Bataguassu. These temporary contracts can last up to three months, with the possibility of permanent employment based on performance.
