Brazil: Thefts reported in Cruzeta and Rio de Janeiro
Two separate theft incidents were reported in Brazil. In Cruzeta, Rio Grande do Norte, a man broke into an optical shop during the early hours of Friday. Security footage captured the suspect, who arrived on a motorcycle and wore a helmet, stealing 174 watches, a notebook, and R$ 2,000 in cash. The total estimated loss for the business is approximately R$ 50,000. The Civil Police have initiated an investigation.
In the Campo Grande neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, a man was arrested by the Municipal Force after stealing approximately R$ 7,560 worth of jewelry and personal care products. Witnesses pursued the suspect, who attempted to flee through railway tracks before being caught. The Municipal Force reported that in areas where they operate, robbery and theft rates have decreased by up to 73.10%.
