Brazil para-badminton team caps International tournament with eight gold medals
On Saturday, 1 August, the Brazilian delegation concluded the International para‑badminton competition held at the Paralympic Training Center in São Paulo. The team earned a total of 39 medals – eight gold, 11 silver and 20 bronze. The standout performer was paraná‑born Kauana Beckenkamp, who secured three gold medals: the individual SL3 title, the mixed‑doubles SL3/SU5 partnership with Yuki Roberto Rodrigues, and the women’s doubles SL3/SU5 with Mikaela da Costa Almeida. Other golds went to Júlio Cesar Godoy (WH2), Ana Carolina Coutinho Reis (SL4), Rogério Oliveira (SL4), and Marcelo Conceição, who won the WH1 individual event and, together with Godoy, the WH1/WH2 doubles. The squad comprised 97 athletes and will travel to Lima, Peru, on 4 August for the next international tournament.
