Brazil to host two major international music festivals in July 2026

Rio de Janeiro will host the 21st World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) International Conference from 20 to 26 July 2026. The week‑long program includes around forty concerts, a conducting competition, a composition contest, workshops and seminars, with participating ensembles from the United States, Germany, Portugal, Colombia and several Brazilian institutions.

Salvador will hold the 15th International Percussion Festival “2 de Julho” from 20 to 25 July 2026. The festival features concerts, master‑classes, lectures and outreach activities, bringing together percussionists from Germany, the United States, Ecuador, Colombia, Guinea‑Bissau and numerous Brazilian groups. Both events aim to boost Latin American visibility in the global music scene and foster cultural exchange among musicians, educators and researchers.
