According to the Brazilian Highway Concessionaires Association (ABCR) and consultancy Tendências, total vehicle flow on Brazil’s tolled highways fell 0.8% in June compared with May, after a 0.8% rise year‑on‑year. Light vehicles dropped 1.1% and heavy vehicles 0.6% month‑on‑month. The decline reflects tighter credit, high inflation and household debt despite a resilient labor market. Regional data show a 0.8% fall in Rio de Janeiro and a 1.1% fall in São Paulo for June, while annual growth remains positive at around 1.7‑1.9%.
