Brazil tourism: Bahia leads growth as Onfly targets R$ 760M in hotel bookings

The Brazilian tourism and travel sectors are showing divergent trends. Bahia has emerged as the national leader in tourism growth, recording a 5.9% increase in 2026, while the national average saw a 1% decline. According to IBGE data, Bahia has experienced 60 months of continuous growth. The state's success is attributed to infrastructure investments, professional training, and the attraction of new flights and corporate events.

In the corporate travel technology sector, Onfly projects it will process R$ 760 million in hotel reservations by 2026, representing a 70% increase from the previous year. The company aims to facilitate approximately 2 million room nights through its proprietary Online Booking Tool. A key part of Onfly's strategy involves expanding direct connections with hotels and networks to reduce intermediaries, with 60% of its accommodation sales already occurring through direct channels.
