Brazil tourism revenue hits record R$25.5 billion in July

Brazil recorded its highest July tourism revenue since 2012, generating R$25.5 billion. The surge was driven by holiday demand, cultural events, and domestic air travel.

According to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics and FecomercioSP, tourism revenue for the first seven months of 2026 reached R$168.8 billion, a 3.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025. While São Paulo remains the largest market by total revenue, the state of Bahia saw the fastest regional growth, with an 18.7% year-on-year increase in July.

FecomercioSP anticipates that annual tourism revenue could approach R$300 billion in 2026, depending on economic conditions and demand for the remainder of the year.
