Brazil truck driver strike rumors for November 5 denied

Wallace Landim, president of the Brazilian Association of Motor Vehicle Drivers (ABRAVA), has denied rumors of a national truck driver strike scheduled for November 5, 2026. The clarification follows the viral spread of social media posts claiming a widespread mobilization would occur on that date.

Landim stated that the circulating information appears to be based on old reports regarding previous mobilizations. While he acknowledged that transport professionals are facing difficulties and have ongoing demands being discussed with the federal government, he confirmed that no national strike has been called or programmed at this time.

Authorities and representative entities advise the public to monitor official communications from the federal government, the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), and the Federal Highway Police (PRF) to avoid misinformation.
