Brazil U-17 squad announced for World Cup in Qatar

Coach Carlos Eduardo Patetuci has announced the 21-player roster for the Brazilian Under-17 national team ahead of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 19 to December 13.

Brazil is placed in Group I alongside Ireland, Costa Rica, and Tanzania, with their opening match set against Ireland on November 21. The squad will begin final preparations at Granja Comary in Teresópolis on November 3 before traveling to Qatar on November 14.

The selected players represent several major Brazilian clubs, including Athletico-PR and Flamengo, which each have three representatives. Other clubs with players on the list include Atlético-MG, Fluminense, Corinthians, Palmeiras, and Vasco, with two players each, while Santos, Grêmio, Cruzeiro, Bahia, and Botafogo contribute one player each.

Patetuci stated that the selection criteria focused on player performance in both club competitions and previous national team training sessions and friendlies. He emphasized the need for players to be fully prepared for the high-intensity, short-duration nature of the World Cup.
