Brazil U-20 National Team Called Up for Bolivia Friendlies

Brazil's under‑20 national football team was named by head coach Paulo Victor on 28 August 2024. Twenty‑four players were selected for two friendly matches against Bolivia, scheduled for 9 and 12 August at the Granja Comary training centre in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro. The fixtures are intended to prepare the squad for the South American U‑20 Championship, which will be held in January 2027.

Palmeiras supplied the most call‑ups, with five athletes on the list. Among the newcomers is 18‑year‑old forward Ruan Pablo of Bahia, who received his first senior‑level invitation. Earlier in the year Bahia renewed Pablo's contract until the end of 2030, setting a domestic release clause of R$ 1.2 billion and an overseas clause of €200 million.

The roster includes goalkeepers João Pedro (Santos), Kauan Lima (Palmeiras) and Léo Nannetti (Flamengo); defenders Ryan (Red Bull Bragantino), Ângelo (São Paulo), Pedro Gabriel (Grêmio) and Rafael Gonzaga (Santos); centre‑backs Breno (Red Bull Bragantino), Bruno André (Vasco da Gama) and others; midfielders Chrystian (Red Bull Bragantino), Djhordney (São Paulo) and several attackers. The coaching staff will use the matches to assess individual performances and test tactical options ahead of the 2027 tournament.
