Brazil vehicle insurance prices show mixed trends in September

Insurance costs for vehicles in Brazil showed divergent trends in September 2026. According to data from Creditas Seguros, the average insurance price for the ten best-selling cars fell by up to 12.6%. Specifically, the average for female profiles dropped by 12.59% from August, while the male profile saw a 4.49% decrease.

However, experts note this decline is largely due to a change in the vehicle mix. High-value hybrid and electric models, such as the BYD Song Plus, were replaced in the top-selling rankings by more affordable models like the Novo HB20 Comfort and Mobi Like. This shift in the composition of analyzed vehicles influenced the statistical average rather than a general reduction in premiums across all models.

Separately, data from TEx (part of Serasa Experian) indicates that motorcycle insurance reached its lowest level since the series began in 2023, with a monthly drop of 4.8%. In contrast, automobile insurance prices rose for the second consecutive month, with the IPSA indicator advancing from 4.4% to 4.5%.
