Brazil voting locations relocated due to structural issues and infestations
Several voting locations in Brazil were relocated for the second round of elections due to structural problems and pest infestations.
In Rio de Janeiro, approximately 3,000 voters in Jardim Sulacap were redirected to Colégio Marques Rodrigues after a flea infestation was discovered at Escola Municipal Visconde de Porto Seguro. Additionally, about 1,800 voters in Brás de Pina were moved to Penha Circular due to structural issues. In total, these changes in the capital city affect roughly 4,800 voters across 15 sections.
In São Paulo, 4,649 voters in the Tucuruvi zone were moved from Escola Estadual Conselheiro Ruy Barbosa to Recanto Nossa Senhora de Lourdes. The Regional Electoral Court (TRE) justified the move because the original school suffered from flooding and roof damage during the first round of elections due to heavy rain and winds. The new location is approximately 700 meters from the original site.
