Brazil wins beach volleyball debut at Youth Olympic Games

The Brazilian beach volleyball duo of Gabriel Campos and Bruno Fellipe secured a victory in their opening match at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal. Competing in Group E, the pair defeated the United States duo of Gavin Mortensen and Caden Phillips with a score of 2 sets to 0, featuring partials of 22/20 and 30/28.

The second set was particularly competitive, as the Brazilians had to save seven set points to clinch the win. Following this victory, the team is scheduled to face Guatemala and Venezuela in the group stage.

In other disciplines, the Brazilian mixed doubles table tennis team, consisting of Felipe Okano and Bianca Borges, lost their opening round match to South Korean players Lee Seungsoo and Heo Yerim in three sets.
