Brazil wins three medals at Americas Triathlon Cup in Ilhéus

Brazilian athletes secured three medals during the Americas Triathlon Cup held in Ilhéus, Bahia. The international event contributed points toward the World Triathlon rankings.

In the men's elite category, Manoel Messias won the gold medal, followed by Gabriel Lecheta, who took silver. The third position was held by Argentina's Tiago Muñoz. In the women's elite category, Brazilian Giovanna Lacerda earned a silver medal. The gold was won by American Katie McCune, while Costa Rica's Catalina Torres Espinoza took the bronze.

The competition consisted of a 750-meter open water swim at Praia do Cristo, a 20 km cycling segment across the Ponte Jorge Amado, and a 5 km run along Avenida Dois de Julho.
