Brazil women's volleyball to face Japan in VNL quarter‑final in Macau

The Brazil women’s national volleyball team will play Japan in the quarter‑finals of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League on Wednesday, 22 July, at 8:30 a.m. Brasília time (02:30 a.m. GMT) in Macau, China. Brazil entered the knockout stage in third place with nine wins and three losses, while Japan finished sixth with eight wins and four defeats. The two sides already met in the pool round, where Brazil won 3‑1. Coached by José Roberto Guimarães, Brazil will be without starter middle blocker Julia Kudiess, who tore her anterior cruciate ligament in the previous match and has been replaced by Larissa Besen of Osasco. The victor of the Brazil‑Japan tie will meet the winner of the Italy‑Netherlands match in the semi‑finals. The match will be broadcast on Sportv 2 and other local networks.
