Brazil women's volleyball team releases Macris and Natinha

The Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV) has announced changes to the women's national team roster ahead of the South American Championship, scheduled to begin on September 8 in Rio de Janeiro. Setter Macris and libero Natinha have been released from training sessions and will not participate in the tournament.

The CBV's official statement did not provide specific reasons for the decision by head coach José Roberto Guimarães. To fill the gaps, the federation has called up three new players for training: setter Vivian, outside hitter Karina, and opposite Sabrina.

The South American Championship will take place at the Maracanãzinho arena and features teams from Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela. The winner of the tournament will secure an early qualification spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
