BrazilFoundation hosts annual New York Gala to support social projects

The 21st annual BrazilFoundation New York Gala was held on September 17 at The Plaza Hotel, focusing on the theme ‘Solutions for Transformative Philanthropy.’ The event gathered entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and artists to raise funds for social and environmental projects in Brazil.

During the ceremony, model Alessandra Ambrósio received the Philanthropy Leadership Award for her 15-year partnership with the foundation and her involvement in social causes. The Brazilian Soul Fund, an initiative by Ambrósio in partnership with the foundation, has mobilized approximately R$ 1.7 million (US$ 340,000) for Brazilian social organizations.

Other honorees included the Instituto Burle Marx, which received the Cultural & Environmental Legacy Award, Mubadala Capital for the Leadership in Social Impact Award, and the musical duo SOFI TUKKER, who were presented with the Brazilian Global Award. The gala featured a menu by chef Morena Leite, highlighting regional Brazilian gastronomy.
