Brazilian actors' deaths during television production

The Brazilian television industry has faced several instances where prominent actors passed away during the filming of soap operas, causing significant emotional distress for crews and viewers alike. These sudden losses often require writers and directors to rapidly redesign entire plotlines to accommodate the absence of key characters.

Notable cases include Cláudia Magno, whose role in the 1994 production Sonho Meu was cut short due to health complications. Additionally, the 2016 death of Domingos Montagner caused national mourning. While filming Velho Chico in Canindé de São Francisco, Montagner was swept away by the currents of the São Francisco River, forcing production to find creative ways to conclude his character's narrative.
