Brazilian agribusiness leaders focus on political representation and industrial growth

Political and business leaders in the Brazilian agribusiness sector are focusing on regional representation and industrial expansion. In a recent meeting, candidates Luiz Fernando Machado for federal deputy and João Paulo de Souza for state deputy gathered approximately 300 supporters, including farmers and political leaders. The group emphasized the necessity of having local representatives in Brasília and São Paulo to secure federal and state resources, noting that a lack of representation can result in significant annual losses for regional municipalities.

Simultaneously, a delegation from the municipality of Sorriso is participating in the Global Agribusiness Forum in São Paulo. The mission aims to attract private investment for agro-industrial plants and promote the region's sustainable production, such as honey, alongside traditional crops like soy, corn, and cotton. During the event, Mayor Alei Fernandes is expected to officially launch the 2027 edition of the forum, which will be hosted in Mato Grosso, to further strengthen business tourism and value-added commodity production.
